Terms of Service
Sherlook compares an authorized face photo with similar images in public sources. These terms explain permitted use and what a payment provides.
Permitted searches
- You may look for appearances of your own face online.
- You may search a photo of an adult who has expressly permitted it.
- You must have the right to use the uploaded photo and a valid reason for the search.
Prohibited uses
- Stalking, harassment, threats, surveillance and unauthorized profiling are prohibited.
- Do not search for children. Do not use results for employment, housing, credit or insurance decisions.
- Unauthorized bulk searches, resale of results and attempts to bypass service limits are prohibited.
Search rights and payment
Published packages are one-time purchases with no automatic renewal. The package quantity is added to your search balance. Each completed live search uses one right for one photo. The current price and quantity are shown in your account before payment.
Payment is handled by Stripe checkout. Sherlook does not store card details. Search and payment options are available only when enabled.
Limits of results
Matches are ranked by similarity, not verified identity. Coverage is incomplete; no match does not prove the photo is absent from the internet.
Failed searches and refunds
A search right used for a technically failed search is restored. A completed search with no matches is still a completed search. You can request a payment refund through the contact page; requests are reviewed under applicable rights and the Stripe transaction record.
If a package payment is refunded, its search rights are removed from the balance. If already spent, the balance can temporarily become negative.
Account and contact
We may restrict access for misuse. Use the contact page for requests about your account, reports or payments.
